Two different Bertch cabinet configurations—Parker and Riverside—were incorporated throughout the space, creating plenty of functional storage while maintaining a cohesive appearance.
The natural character of Hickory adds warmth and texture to the room, while the Driftwood finish keeps that warmth from feeling overly heavy. To complete the cabinetry, Elements Gibson cabinet pulls in Satin Bronze add another layer of warmth and coordinate beautifully with the bronzed-gold plumbing fixtures.
It’s a great example of how hardware can do more than simply provide function. When the finish is thoughtfully coordinated with the rest of the room, even a relatively small detail can help tie an entire design together.
A Classic Countertop with a Clean Finish
For the countertops, we selected Viatera’s Classic Collection quartz in Cotton White.
The crisp white quartz provides a clean visual break against the darker Driftwood cabinetry while complementing the white plumbing fixtures and tile throughout the bathroom.
Quartz also makes a practical choice for a busy bathroom vanity. It provides the polished appearance homeowners want while offering a durable, easy-to-maintain surface for everyday use.
Two Kohler Caxton undermount sinks are integrated into the vanity, creating a clean countertop profile and giving the bathroom a balanced double-sink configuration.
The combination of white quartz and undermount sinks keeps the vanity looking streamlined, allowing the cabinetry and tile to provide more of the visual interest.
Where the Tile Gets Interesting
This bathroom’s tile design is where the personality really comes through.
One of the most distinctive selections is Daltile’s Artcrafted tile in Aloe. This handcrafted, glossy rectangular tile brings color, texture, and variation to the room, giving the space a handmade character that a standard flat ceramic tile simply can’t replicate.
The Aloe tone introduces a beautiful layer of color while still working with the warmer Driftwood cabinetry and bronze-toned fixtures.
But the real drama comes from the floor tile: Daltile Pure in both Frost White and Black, in a large-format 24×24 matte finish.
The contrast between the white and black tile creates a strong graphic element, while the matte finish helps keep the look sophisticated rather than overly glossy.
And then there’s one more tile detail that adds a completely different texture: Roca Tile’s Color Collection Mosaic in MG White Penny Round.
The small penny-round mosaic introduces a softer, more traditional shape into a bathroom that otherwise incorporates large-format tile and strong geometric lines. It’s those changes in scale and shape that help keep the design visually interesting.
Finishing the Shower
The shower incorporates thoughtful finishing details from Schluter Systems, including a KERDI-DRAIN Trendline Curve grate in Matte Black and Jolly Edge trim in Ivory.
These details aren’t necessarily the first things a homeowner notices when looking at a finished bathroom, but they’re important to the overall quality of the installation.
The matte black drain provides a subtle connection to the black tile, while the ivory Jolly Edge creates a clean transition at the finished tile edges.
It’s a reminder that a beautiful tile installation isn’t just about choosing the tile itself. The edges, transitions, grout, waterproofing, and finishing details all contribute to the final result.
Bronzed Gold Makes the Difference
Perhaps the most defining finishing touch in Alana and Bernie’s bathroom is the plumbing.
The bathroom features Moen’s Genta collection in Bronzed Gold, including two-handle low-arc bathroom faucets, a Roman tub faucet, shower controls, and coordinating accessories.
The bronzed-gold finish adds warmth against the white tile and quartz while connecting naturally with the Satin Bronze Gibson cabinet hardware.
The shower also includes a Moen Eco-Performance six-function showerhead and handheld shower, providing flexibility without sacrificing the clean appearance of the design.
Rather than treating the plumbing fixtures as purely functional elements, the design uses them as part of the room’s overall visual language.
